JAIPUR: The Rajasthan State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission on Friday stayed till further orders the execution of a non-bailable warrant against actor Salman Khan in connection with an allegation of misleading advertisement for Rajshree Pan Masala. The advertising campaign has faced legal scrutiny, which is ongoing.
The order came on a revision petition of the pan masala company as well as Khan against an earlier direction by Jaipur-II District Consumer Forum to issue a bailable warrant against the actor. Khan’s counsel submitted that the district panel had passed the non-bailable warrant in haste without serving summons on him.

In this view on a request of the complainant state commission ordered district disconsumer forum to consider the application for setting aside of bailable warrant immediately and not to issue any non-bailable warrant till that time when bailable warrant is executed.
The case pertains to Salman Khan endorsing advertisements of alleged banned product, Rajshree Pan Masala in contravention to the interim ban imposed by the commission on January 6, 2026. The complainant had argued that the promotional material, which contained product descriptions such as “Kesar Yukt Elaichi” and “Kesar Yukt Pan Masala,” was misleading advertising and in contempt of the commission’s order.
The district commission had earlier ordered the Jaipur Police Commissioner to execute the bailable warrant, which was related to the case in which Khan was directed to appear before it on February 6. But with the halt on more warrants, the case is now headed back to the district body for further consideration.

Legal experts said that while the state commission’s order has offered Mr. Smollett some temporary relief, it also reinforces the call for due process in consumer dispute proceedings. No costs of these applications and counsels for both sides have been given liberty to move their application before the District Commission without prejudice.
